eTIMS Portal Login — The Official Link and How to Sign In

Most "eTIMS portal login" searches come from a business trying to issue its first electronic invoice and hitting the wrong door: an outdated bookmark, a sign-up form they did not expect, or a password that no longer works. Here is the official path, in the order you will actually need it.

The official eTIMS portal login link

The eTIMS taxpayer portal is https://etims.kra.go.ke/ — open it and select LOGIN. The same screen links SignUp, "Forgot your password?", and KRA's eTIMS How to Guide, so if you are not sure whether an account already exists, that single page is the right starting point.

Do not confuse the portals: KRA's main website (kra.go.ke) is for information, iTax (itax.kra.go.ke) is where returns and filing happen, and eTIMS (etims.kra.go.ke) is where electronic tax invoices happen. KRA also delivers eTIMS through other doors — the eCitizen web solution (ecitizen.kra.go.ke) and the USSD code *222# for the Lite options described below — but the etims.kra.go.ke online portal is the surface aimed at businesses issuing invoices at volume.

If you do not have an account yet: register first

KRA's onboarding guidance is explicit: before installing any eTIMS solution you are required to register for eTIMS, providing details about the nature of your business. Registration is self-service — KRA eliminated the requirement for KRA intervention in approving service requests — and the official walkthrough is the Procedure for eTIMS Registration guide (User-Guide-for-eTIMS-Registration.pdf) linked from KRA's "How to Onboard on eTIMS" page.

The sign-up form on the portal asks for details including your Registration ID (or passport), taxpayer name, mobile number, e-mail, Taxpayer PIN, and a password. Have your KRA PIN certificate handy — it is the same PIN you use on iTax. If iTax login is the problem you are actually facing, our separate KRA iTax login guide (/kra-itax-login-v2) covers the working link, the password reset, and the iFCA-1000 session error.

Forgot your eTIMS password?

Start with the "Forgot your password?" link on the etims.kra.go.ke login screen. For the full walkthrough, KRA publishes the eTIMS Online Portal User Guide (2025 edition) as a PDF, and the eTIMS tutorials page carries step-by-step videos covering sign-up and service requests, creating invoices on the online solution, and raising credit notes. If a reset still fails, the eTIMS Contact and Support Details page on kra.go.ke lists the current support channels.

Small and not VAT-registered? You may not need this portal at all

KRA built the eTIMS Lite set for small and micro taxpayers who are not registered for VAT. Lite comes in three forms:

  1. eTIMS Lite Web, accessible via eCitizen (ecitizen.kra.go.ke)
  2. eTIMS Lite USSD, by dialing *222# (KRA Services)
  3. the eTIMS Non VAT mobile app, on the Play Store and Apple Store

All three generate electronic invoices without the full online portal. The registration requirement comes first either way — register for eTIMS, then pick whichever Lite surface matches how you work.

After login: first invoices and corrections

Once you are in, the daily job is creating electronic invoices; KRA's tutorials show the exact flow on the online solution, including raising a credit note when an invoice has to be corrected. Keep the split straight: invoicing lives on eTIMS, returns filing lives on iTax, and each has its own login.
